Great Dog Productions offers quality products for people who work, live and play with dogs.
We are affiliated with Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption, a not-for-profit open admission dog shelter in the Catskill Mountains of New York. A portion of the proceeds from our product sales are set aside to fund the shelter and its programs.
Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption and its owner, Sue Sternberg, were the subject of the award-winning HBO documentary "Shelter Dogs." Sue is a featured lecturer throughout the United States and overseas on all aspects of working with shelter dogs, including handling skills, dog training, instructing, and behavior. She develops programs to prevent pet relinquishment and overpopulation, to match families with safe pets, and to help shelters attend to the mental health of the animals in their care. Programs developed at Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption include Training Wheels®, a mobile community outreach program, and Assess-a-Pet™.

Great Dog Productions is the distributor for books, videos and DVD's prepared by Sue Sternberg which address dog handling and behavior issues encountered by shelter staff and animal owners, temperament evaluation, improving the well-being of shelter dogs, and enhancing adoptability. We are also the distributor for Sue's Assess-a-Hands®.
Great Dog Productions also offers a growing selection of apparel, gear and artwork which celebrates and promotes enjoying life with a great dog.
 Sam Bartlett's colorful dogs decorate many of the clothes and other items offered by Great Dog Productions. Sam's vibrant murals, inhabited by dogs frolicking through a universe of contraptions, top hats, and wacky gizmos, have greeted visitors to Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption since it first opened its doors. The shelter soon began incorporating Sam's drawings into clothing and gear it offered for sale. Keep checking our site for additions to Sam's gallery, and new products featuring his distinctive artwork.
Sam is also an accomplished musician, and his albums include a collaboration with Sue Sternberg on a disc of traditional North American and Irish fiddle tunes. Visit Sam's website, www.sambartlett.com, to sample more of his creative endeavors.
